Five piece Roscoe Roscoe are the latest band to get excited about, and their debut single “Brain Retrieve” doesn’t mess around. Exploding from the get-go with crashing guitars and drums, giving way to soaring synths and dreamy vocals the track spins and builds up as it progresses. The track is out on Slow Dance Recordings, and is the first band the label have signed, predominantly working with solo artists on other releases. After turning heads with their performance at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival despite having no released music, we look forward to the return of gigging and seeing them take the stage again.

Following the likes of Black Midi, the band met whilst studying at the Brit School and they formed around a shared love of 1960s counterculture, avant-pop bands like Stereolab and Broadcast and psychedelics Tame Impala and Wand. Their funnel of influences is also filtered through their own unique interpretation of the chameleonic genre they work within, one that is informed by those before them but looking to a future shaped by uncertainty.
