Get To Know : Delivery
Please introduce your band! (every member / what you do etc)
We’ve got Bec on bass and vox, James on guitar and vox, Scarlett on guitar and vox, Jordy on you guessed it guitar and vox and Liam on the drums.
How did you all meet and form Delivery?
We all met at gigs in Melbourne. Maybe that's a little boring but that’s the way these things go I guess, we’re pretty lucky to have all landed in each others’ orbit and to be able to rock together, forever grateful to the Melbourne scene. Shoutouts to beer too I guess.
Who and what has inspired the band’s sound?
We’ve got heaps of favourite bands whose influence has surely crept into our music. Maybe too many to name but here’s a few: The Intelligence, Shopping, Pavement, The Slits, The Yummy Fur, Gustaf, Parquet Courts, The Hives, the list goes on!
Congrats on the new album! How has it been performing these songs live for the first time?
Super fun, it’s always exciting to play new tracks live, there’s a couple still waiting to get figured out for the live set but what you’ll get will be rocking!
How’s the tour prep going? Any rituals / things you do to get you ready for the road?
It’s always chaos, but we always get there… I usually try to squeeze in a bit of a detox before hitting the road, but that doesn’t always go exactly to plan haha, just try to make it to the airport on time and not forget anything too important.
Any shows you’re particularly excited about playing in this stretch?
Honestly looking at our schedule I am excited for every single show, it’s so much fun being on tour and playing (almost) every night. We’ll be stoked to be wherever we are, and we’re also really excited to play with a bunch of amazing bands too! Tuff Guac, Dead Finks, Lambrini Girls, Honk, Gold Cup, Fruit Tones… feeling very lucky!
Tell us about the Melbourne scene at the moment, who are you excited about coming up through the ranks?
We are incredibly spoiled to live and play music in Melbourne, with so many legendary bands who have paved the way and so many new bands doing what Melbourne bands do best (and more)! The local community is probably the biggest influence on our band too really. Some fav bands doing cool shit atm are Dragnet, The States, Equal Parts, Mug, De Porsal, and our besties EGGY of course!
What does the rest of 2025 hold for you?
Lots more touring, writing album number three, having a good time.
Who / what would be your dream collaboration dead or alive?
The Dare or Criss Angel, whoever reaches our first I guess.
