Please introduce your band!
Hi, I’m Micha from Tramhaus. We’re a band from Rotterdam in the styles of (hardcore)punk, shoegaze, kraut and post punk.
What was the inspiration behind your latest album, 'The First Exit’?
Our last album is inspired by the lots of touring we did prior to making the album: it’s a testimony to our lived experiences along the way, sometimes cloaked under a veil of day-to-day symbolism.
How would you describe the current Rotterdam music scene, and are there any local artists you’re particularly excited about?
It sure is buzzing. There’s lots going on and there is a (albeit fragile) form of a collective effort amongst most artists from Rotterdam. One band in particular I’m excited about is ‘Fellatio’: a self-acclaimed penis-kraut-band full of absurdist energy only people with a true sense of this false world can come up with.

What’s your favourite thing to do when visiting the UK on tour?
Staying over at Bernie’s place up in Manchester (legendary woman hosting bands in her beautiful house since forever, ever hospitable and sweet) – truly a treat when travelling through this black pudding-fueled rodeo of a country.
What’s your craziest show you’ve played. Where and what happened?
Probably the one in Hull (The New Adelphi) just over a year ago. Lovely people all over, however, at the end of the show somebody in the crowd had lost a dread (not kidding), we found it later on the venue floor while packing up.
What exciting plans or projects can fans expect from Tramhaus soon?
We’re working on a new album, besides touring a lot. The new album will portray the feeling of the moment we’re in right now. It will sound fresh and will implement a broad spectrum of sounds.
